A virtual image
I have been on vacation recently thus have seen a few Duty Frees. And all of the Duty-Frees are famous for 3 main things - alcohol, confectionaries and fashion goods! I have seen all kinds of advertisements for these items. When I landed back in Delhi, I saw something that amazed me. I am attaching photos so that you can see this for yourself.
It is not so clear in this photo but this is a holographic fan and it is creating a hologram. You can view the same thing from a different angle.
There is a mystery I have yet to resolve: where is the image getting formed? When an LED is shone, it has to get stopped somewhere to form an image. But where is the light ray getting stopped from this fan- where is the screen?
Here is what I think happens: if you have ever watched a 3D movie, you would know that they would give you some plastics glasses to give it the 3D look. What if there is some kind of similar plastic layered on top of the row of LEDs.
I have researched but have been unable to yield any results. Would any of you know the answer to this please email me at jairelan.2005@gmail.com or leave an answer in the comments below.

This optical illusion was created by a three-dimensional holographic fan. There are 2 blades which house 1 continuous row of L.E.D.s- when moving at around 1,000 rpm, these make amazing optical illusions that have to stun you. Every few milliseconds, the image changes giving the 3D effect. This is different from a normal mirror because this also incorporates the factor of depth in the image, giving it a 3D look.
Here is a video that shows the images that can be made:
