The most creative way(s) to break a pencil(s)

Well, of course, you can always break one with your hands but there is no fun in that. So there are two different experiments and they will be showing completely different ways to break a pencil.

The first way to break pencils does not leave you with a broken pencil (aaaawwwwwww...). If it did then the topic would be 'The most creative way to snap a pencil' but it isn't. Now when I say 'break a pencil', I mean make it 'look broken'. Now, we all know that due to the change of medium, a pencil appears broken in water but can we 'break' it more; how about breaking it in two places? Water has a refractive index of about 1.3 while air has 1 (no refraction), oil has 1.5, glass' has 1.5 and diamond has 2.24 (one of the reasons why diamond looks so visually appealing). Using this data we can conclude that if we put a pencil in oil it will appear more broken than in water.

Now to try this fill a transparent container about 1/3rd with water and about 1/3rd with oil and dip a pencil in it. The results are very prominent. The pencil appears broken in two places!

Second method: We all know that water is the only liquid (scientists are looking for more of them)  that expands on freezing. Using this concept,  we can take a glass container (an old glass bottle which has a narrow mouth) and fill it to the brim with water. Then put 5 pencils on the top and bottom on the can and use tape to tape the 10 pencils together. Make sure they are stable and then put them in the freezer and then wait for a few days. As the water expands, it starts to ooze out of the bottle, thus putting pressure on the pencils, eventually snapping the pencils.

If you know any other ways to break pencils please let me know. Also please do not do the second experiment too many times; I am a nature lover and well... pencils are made of wood.
